Teams from Woe to Go is designed to assist organizations
of any size set up High Performing Teams. The David Principle Ltd. is
the corporate/strategic arm of my company.
My
aim when working with teams is initially to free management time by at
least 30% so they can work ON the business not IN it. However, the two
greatest challenges facing any organization today are:
FINDING
good employees and KEEPING them!
So,
once your time is freed up (and it doesn’t take long to do that),
managers/owners now need to put some of that freed up time back into their
employees by:
- Conducting
regular 1:1 performance/career development discussions with their employees
(otherwise they will become bored and leave!)
- Upskilling
team members so there is a clear Succession Plan for key players (if
they leave and you have no-one to replace you could be In deep yoghurt)
- Dealing
with less than desireable performance quickly and effectively (if you
don’t it will spread!)

Becoming a coach; a mentor and a leader rather than the traditional
manager.
The
challenge for most managers is that they haven’t been trained in
how to do steps 1-4 above.
I speak regularly at Conferences throughout New Zealand on the above topics;
run regular public workshops for the Employer’s and Manufacturer’s
Association, but am also happy to run such workshops in-house. References
