Ann Andrews | Director
As an ex-HR Manager who then set up her own business to specialise in working with teams, Ann became so busy she decided she needed to train other people to help her do the work she did. And so the franchise Teams From Woe To Go was born.
In the first 18 months the franchise attracted 11 very talented people and so Ann thought that building the franchise would be really simple.
Imagine her horror as one by one each franchise fell over.
What Ann hadn't factored in when she was recruiting, was that most of the people she sold a franchise to had come from a salaried position. They were used to a substantial and regular income.
This coupled with some health issues helped Ann decide that this probably wasn't the best business model for what she did. And so the franchise was closed.
However, what Ann learned during this venture, coupled with her existing team skills is what she now passes on to new franchisees:
- That they have not bought a job, they have bought a business
- Even a franchise takes time to build and grow
- The franchisor is not their mum, their dad or their banker
- The franchisor has a vested interest in the franchisees success, but can't build the business for them
- The franchisor is absolutely not their enemy

Warren Mills has had many years' experience in the franchise sector, as a franchisee and a franchisor. He successfully established the s.b.a small business accounting franchise, developing a nationwide group of 32 thriving franchises, before on-selling the company in 2007.
Warren now consults under his company Franchise Focus, providing guidance and mentoring to the franchise industry. He specialises in the recruitment and development of new franchisees.

Briar Millar | Marketing Manager & Consultant
Not only is Briar Millar our resident Marketing Manager with a marketing qualification under her belt, she also has a degree in psychology, giving her a thorough understanding of behaviours, attitudes and values. Briar's marketing experience includes senior event management and project management roles, as well as generalist marketing roles in the wine and print industries. Whilst completing her psychology degree, a part-time job at direct marketing agency Robbins Brandt Richter was the catalyst to a very rewarding career. She has project-managed many successful industry events and worked with clients such as the Direct Marketing Association, Vodafone, TelstraClear, the Stamford Plaza and the Multi Serve Education Trust.
