TEAM PERFORMANCE
It used to be that managers told people (and teams) what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Those days are long gone. Firstly managers don't have the time; secondly employees are actually very bright people. Employees today don't need to be managed, they need to be given the parameters of the job, the training to do the job and the space to get on and complete it - in short you need to be building a self-managing team. Our team management service helps managers to build such self-managing teams. We show managers how to delegate a good 30% of their day-to-day decisions to the team. This happens through good meeting processes, involvement in ideas, discussion about the best way to address tasks and then being given permission to go away and get the job done without the manager needing to check every step of the way. Team management is about setting the boundaries and the consequences for failing to work within those parameters. Team management is about tough love - loving (or trusting) the people in the team to be accountable; to do what they say they will do, but expecting that results WILL be achieved.
What Our Clients SayThe boys in our factory now have a self-belief that wasn't there before we worked with Teams From Woe To Go. Now they know that it is up to them how much they get, not only in their work career but also in their personal lives. They now understand that they control their own team's success and ultimately the company's success. They know it's OK to speak up; and we absolutely want them to participate in the decision making for their team. Most importantly, they are now not afraid to tell fellow team members when they are not contributing positively. My team was great before - now they are awesome. I had some very positive feedback about the way you delivered the two-day training workshop with our staff. You made the participants feel that they could contribute in a safe training environment. The group of people you had for the training were a very diverse group each with different backgrounds and needs. From all accounts you were able to exceed their needs and turn some initial negativity from the group into positivism. Well done. HR Advisor Department for Courts
I have used a variety of coaches and facilitators over the eight years that my senior management team was together, and we had experienced mixed results. I am pleased to say that Teams From Woe To Go exceeded our expectations in all areas. The team session had practical learnings and was outcome-focused. Follow up sessions were made to ensure the outcomes we wanted were achieved. Service Centre Manager IRD On behalf of the boys and management team of St. Kentigern College First XV rugby squad, we wish to thank you for the enormous contribution to our training camp. It is not easy to motivate boys of this age, particularly at the end of a long day. The boys, of their own free will, reconvened as a team on Wednesday night and agreed to their team goals and even developed a mission statement. Many thanks. Tim Connolly Team Manager
