DEVELOPING LEADERS

In today's manic world, our managers and team leaders are working longer and longer hours, and becoming more and more stressed and burnt out.

Yet it doesn't have to be that way.

Sadly we teach our supervisors, foremen, team leaders and managers to 'manage' their staff, when in fact people don't need to be managed, they need to be led.

Moving from managing to leading isn't easy. Most of us have only ever experienced the autocratic manager who yelled and screamed at us; or the laissez faire manager who hides away in his/her office avoiding people and their problems; or the micro manager who wants to be involved in every minute detail, never trusting that their people can make perfectly good decisions if they are given the right training and some space to learn.

The very best thing any manager of people can have, is a coach or mentor. Someone who has a life's worth of experience of managing people; somneone to whom they can pour out their troubles and receive great tips and tools and techniques for making that shift into leading people.

I have spent over 20 years working in the HR field. I've worked with team leaders, managers and executive managers and I've coached and mentored them so they can become more effective in their role as leaders.

Coaching is done via Skype and so I can work with people from anywhere in the world.

What My clients Have Said

Ann Andrews was employed to work across our organisation of 500+ employees to pave the way for an intensive Performance Leadership programme. We knew the programme would be ineffectual unless the managers and teams were comfortable working through their own job related issues. It was important to have an external person to ensure that people were trained to be able to speak openly and honestly, and without fear of recrimination.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the Woe To Go process as highly influential, genuine and captivating.

I have had nothing but positive feedback about the sessions with my senior team. We have agreed as a senior management team, that the philosophies and practices of the Woe To Go system needs to be rolled out to every team at Powerco.

David Gibson
GM Powerco, New Plymouth

I was amazed - 10 minutes into a one-hour presentation my employees were involved and inspired.

As a result of that one presentation we are ALL thinking differently. For the first time in my role as GM, my senior staff are taking personal responsibility for outcomes rather than waiting for me to chase things along. Thank you for showing us the difference between parent/child and adult/adult.
